Welcome to the Thread: My Mission Statement

We start, dear reader, at the beginning…

Every story and every ball of yarn has a beginning, and this post marks mine. This site is built around a simple idea that I’ve always held close to my heart: classical myths aren’t relics of the past — they’re patterns we keep returning to, fundamental imprints of our human identities. Whether you’re a student, a teacher, or simply someone who enjoys tracing ideas through literature, the goal here is to make those patterns clear, accessible, and genuinely useful… and hopefully interesting, too!

The tarot‑style cards you’ll see across the site act as pathways into different kinds of understanding: quick myth summaries that offer rapid fire “tell me everything I need to know about this myth” quick reference guides, more detailed and in-depth structural guides, exploring the connections of themes between texts, character studies, and practical classroom tools from one Classics teacher to another; I hope my resources are useful for you.

This project is about clarity, curiosity, and the pleasure of seeing how stories fit together. If you leave with one new idea, one clearer connection, or one spark of interest to explore further, then the thread has done its job.
